Hi guys I want to use garageband and plug my keyboard into my mac but I need a cable. Is it a midi to USB cable and will anyone do? or do I need a specific one for a mac

At the store they cost $99 but on ebay they are $20 would this one work?

This one

Yeah, that should be fine. I've seen them for $30-$50 at local stores near me, so $99 is just outrageous. This eBay auction looks like a decent price for what had been a 'cheaper' cable in the first place.

The best one is the M-Audio Midiman 1x1. Very low latency levels and very well made.

It depends on your keyboard. Some of them have USB boards built right into them, others have the round MIDI connectors. For the latter, you will need a USB-to-MIDI interface (it's really a little more than a cable). The good news is that they can be had for very little money (40 bucks and up new), and they are also often integrated into more generic audio interface units. Do a search for "MIDI" over in the Digital Audio forum and you'll find plenty of information.
