i was thinking about the features steve jobs says he is working on but wont tell us. well we know he has been working on the apple tv, leopard, and iphone....and we all know there is the issue with how all the different devices connect to each other. well i was thinking of the idea of using leopard to stream your entire computer to your tv via apple tv, and using the iphone to navigate through it all from the couch. maybe have the iphone in your hand while you sit on the couch, but have it also displayed on your tv for a bigger viewing space and navigate through it all from a custom control on the iphone........i dunno, it's late and I thought I had something big - haha.

I think it's very likely the iPhone will act as some kind of touch screen remote for the :apple: TV. For one, it would let you navigate music in your living room without having the television on. For another, you could use it to browse YouTube (or other online content), when that feature is introduced/fleshed-out.

I don't think it will give you full blown remote access to your desktop and apps, though. But its software keyboard would nicely solve one big hurdle to using the :apple: TV with the internet (iTS): no one wants to browse without a keyboard, but no one wants a keyboard in their living room.

I also think this remote capability will be present in the next iPod.

I agree - watching Jobs hunt & peck through the field of letters to search for a YouTube program looked painful. It's the same setup as Tivo but at least Tivo starts sorting shows as you type. The iPhone "keyboard" would be a huge improvement.

Yes. I'm sure it will. I've been thinking the same thing, that's the iPhone will (maybe not at launch, but eventually) interact with OSX and other Apple products in very unique and useful ways.

I could have sworn it was already mentioned somewhere that they were looking at allowing the iPhone to work as an AppleTV remote as well. Maybe I'm just crazy and thought it, but I am pretty sure it's already been speculated about and it seems realistic and likely.

Anything to partner more products together. :D
