Just got the new iMac (top end 20 inch model) custom configured to add more storage.

The Mighty Mouse does not work properly; it constantly clicks the side buttons if I just barely touch the mouse at all. I managed to disable the side buttons, but I can still hear the mouse making the clicking noise as if I was pressing them. Also, I have to click extremely far to the right to make the right click work.

I have tried plugging it into both the back of the computer and the keyboard, and I get the same effect. Other brand (read: dell / logitech) mice work fine. The Mighty Mouse works, but it CONSTANTLY tries to press the side/expose buttons. The USB ports on the keyboard work for every other device (iPod, other mice) that I have tried. I tried the Mighty Mouse on my Macbook and three iMacs at work, and it works FINE on every computer except for my new iMac. I swapped my Mighty Mouse for one of the ones at work and it still does not work properly on my iMac.

I called Applecare about it, and I was informed that the USB slots on the keyboard "are not for mice, but for hard drives and flash drives" (I'm serious).

I am just curious if anyone else is having this issue. I JUST got all of my stuff transferred to it, and I really do not want to be without it over something as minor as this; however, I am hesitant, as this could be a sign of things to come.

Anyone else having this issue, or have any thoughts?

Haha, that's a good one.

Sound like you might have a defective mouse yeah.

I'm personally not going to open up my wireless mighty mouse box when the iMac gets here. I will sell it brand new and so it least covers half the cost of the MX Revolution.

It's just not a good mouse in my opinion. Although the design is really nice, and the idea of a "buttonless" is good it just doesn't' work that well.

Two Mighty (Mice?) have failed on this iMac. I appreciate the ideas though. I may just go for a rechargeable, bluetooth logitech. A shame the Mighty Mouse did not receive an update along with the keyboard.

if you read my other thread about the mouse, mine does the same thing.

sometimes my expose buttons just trigger even if my finger is just resting on it.

i ultimately solved this problem by putting 3 fingers on top and holding the other two out...

well im going to call apple soon

It seems software / driver related, considering the mice work on every other computer.

I'll just hold out for an update, but PM me if you hear anything.

Thanks.
