Hi all. Just got myself the new 2.8Ghz Aluminium iMac :D:D:D:D *dances like an ape on acid* anyhow, stupidity aside, I have a DMG of my MacBook (I sold it) on my external drive: how may I migrate from the DMG image of my entire MacBook, onto my new iMac??.

I am sure it must be possible, but I dont know... anyone??

Many thanks... oh, and did I mention... I LOVE MY NEW iMac!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

You need to use the migration assistant that comes with your MacOSX, I will think that you just need to mount the image on your desktop and your Mac will see it as a Volume.

You are indeed very kind - it seems to recognise the mounted DMG "MacBook" with the standard silver HDD icon. Many thanks - saved me hours of fruitless Googling. It's migrating as I type!! :D
