I currently have a WinXP system I built a couple of years ago. I am planning to retire it and buy an iMac 21.5" w/1 tb hddrive next week. I want to move my music movies and apps from my WinXP iTunes over to my new Mac. I have loaded my entire "My Music" folder as well as my basic essentials from my old pc onto a 100gb external hard drive formatted NTFS. Is there any special way to distribute my music and apps in Mac OS? Anyone have experience doing this?

One quick thing, your not going to be able to move your applications over unless you are using Boot Camp, or some sort of virtualization software.
step 1: Reformat your HDD to Fats! OSX cant read ntfs!
Step 2: re copy everything over to your newly formatted hdd!
Step 3: In iTunes options on your mac ensure organise my music is checked and just import the whole folder with all your aopps and songs to iTunes and it will sort it and place it in the correct places for you!

I done this recently, OS X can read a ntfs hard drive as mine was ntfs. It cant write to it tho until you install the ntfs 3g driver.
All you do is copy your music from the hard drive to your music folder on the mac and then import it into itunes.

I read mac could read from ntfs, but I had no idea it was that simple to transfer it. Thanks everybody!
