I'm eagerly waitng for my new MBP to arrive, so i thought i might aswell get all my gear together before it arrives. I already have 4GB RAM ready and waiting, but i have a few queries about migrating the data from my current Mac...

1) what cable will I need? a simple 6 pin to 6 pin firewire? or 6 to 4 pin? is there any speed difference?

2) As i understand when i first boot up my new MBP it should ask me if i want to migrate my settings. Is this right? can i migrate later if for some reason i cant do it on first boot? or will this mess up any settings?

3) Are there any issues with migrating from tiger -> leopard? and what content gets ported over? (iTunes library? movies? documents? all data? or just apps and settings?)

There is no speed difference between 4 and 6 pin firewire as iToast pointed out, but
A: There are no macs that have the 4 pin connector
B: There is a power difference, which is mooted by your situation

So, 6-6 FW cable.
