I have a Mac Pro and I would like to get my address book contents from Outlook Express into the Mac's mail reader.
Is there some easy way to do this?
Also, is it possible to copy over my inbox and sent items box from Outlook Express into the Mac?
I am worried because I have a lot of saved emails in OE that I will need to have access to from the Mac, and I would like to avoid having to manually redo my entire address book.
Are Safari and Mail the best apps to use on a Mac for email and internet, or should I installl something else?
Should I just forget the whole thing and install Win XP on the Mac so that I can use my OE stuff?
Thanks a lot for any advice.

You might want to check out the $10 program called Outlook2Mac. I haven't used it, but it claims to handle just what you're after.

MaryKay: Thunderbird is the email program from Mozilla, the folks who brought us the web browser Firefox (a superior browser, BTW). It has capabilities to import email from other programs, although their website makes no specific mention of Outlook Express. Even if it did, though, you'd still have to get the OE mailbox files off the PC and onto the Mac.

MaryKay has a point, sunfish. Thunderbird can import mail from outlook express on windows and after you do that, you can export it to another format that can be imported with apple mail.

Isn't that mostly what I said?

Now, I don't use Thunderbird, so I went to Mozilla.com and searched the FAQ, which mentions several mail programs, but not OE. Hence my comment "no specific mention of OE" and my further comment that "you'd still have to get the mailbox files off the PC and onto the Mac," which you reiterate.

I'll note that the OP asked for an EASY way to migrate; I'm not sure that this qualifies. But, if it works for them, great.
