I have a 'late 2015 Macbook air running Yosemite (10.10.5) and just purchased a new Macbook Air 2020 running Catalina (10.15.7). I used Migration Assistant to move everything over. It all went fine except that none of the photos came across. After doing some reading, I copied the Photos Library from the old computer onto a thumb drive and now have the thumb drive inserted in the new MacBook. The Photo Library shows up when I open the thumb drive.

Can someone more skilled than me (which is everyone) please explain how I move the Photo Library from the thumb drive into Photos on the new computer? Greatly appreciated.

Skip the thumb drive and just Airdrop it from your old Macbook to your new one. Once you double-click it, it should start converting to work on Catalina
