Migration Assistant

I have two computers: an iMac G4 and a PowerBook G4. Sometimes I want to transfer stuff over between them but instead of using migration assistant or putting my stuff onto a cd, I just use FireWire target disk mode. The thing is though as soon as an Intel PowerBook comes out, I will hopefully buy it A.S.A.P. But I had a big fear. Will I be able to use migration assistant with a computer that has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT processor? Will I be ablt to use FireWire Target Disk Mode with a computer that has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT processor? I really do not want to have to buy masses of blank cd's to put everything on! PLEASE HELP!!

I can't see Apple dropping the ball on this... it's too big of a thing for them to do that.

And if worst comes to worst, they do totally skip migration assistant and firewire target disk mode, you can always set up a network between the two computers.

you could also gmail it to yourself, haha.

Firewire target disk mode has nothing to do with the processor. All you're doing is moving files and applications. Files will still be able to be moved. Old applications should run under Rosetta.

Your biggest worry should be whether Apple will drop Firewire. For all intents and purposes, it's dead on the iPod.
