It's probably a bad time to be doing this but I need to migrate from one comp to the other. If I install Y beta on the new comp also, does mig assistant run fine? anybody tried it?

Yes, the setup following the install even offers the option to migrate your files onto the Yosemite beta install volume.

Hasn't been working okay for me...I've been trying to use Migrarion Assistant to install from a Time Machine backup and another Mac and neither works. Both Macs are running the latest PB and the Time Machine backup was created from one of those Macs, so Im thinking it's just some weird prerelease glitch. However I did remember after trying this mutiple times that the Mac I was trying to restore to is encrypted while the Mac I'm trying to restore from is not, so maybe that's part of the problem, idk. So Im currently unencrypting that drive to see if it helps at all.
