I see that the military discount website is live, with 10% off the new iPhones for Unlocked/Sim free versions. Anyone know if the only way to get this discount is to pay all upfront? Or is there a way to combine this discount with iPhone Payments spread out over time? Or even the iPhone Upgrade Program?

I didn't do the payment plan, but when I went in to purchase a new one (fun fact: you can buy your wife/husband/significant other one as well using the military discount), the discounted price would have applied whether I paid it all up front or over time.

Nice - did you preorder at an Apple store when you say you "went in"? Or did you mean on the military discount website?

@Kung I just tried it again and there doesn't appear to be any option on their military website to do payment plans.
I added an iPhone 11 Pro to my cart, Unlocked sim free, then proceeded to Payment method and it shows Pay in full, or apply for a Barclays card. How are you seeing a pay over time option? What URL/website did you order from

My apologies; I ordered from the Apple Store. To be honest, I didn't pay super close attention to the options I had; I simply know that when I logged in like normal (using my regular Apple ID) it quoted me whatever price per month; and then when I reattempted the same thing utilizing my ID.me, it quoted a lower price per month.

With this said....I'll freely admit that I ended up getting the AT&T phone, and then calling Apple to inquire as to why the military discount didn't seem to apply to non-unlocked phones. They're supposedly going to adjust the price once the phones are officially released....we'll see, I suppose. LOL

What the...

Ok, yeah, now, no matter how I log in (normal AppleID or ID.me) or what option I choose, I get 'pay in full' and that's about it. Odd...

Thanks for the reply - I chatted with Apple Support Chat and they said no discounts (such as military discount) can be utilized with the iPhone Upgrade Program. FYI

That's kinda crap.

"We thank you for your service...as long as you pay us 100% of the price up front." ?

I just got off the phone with an Apple specialist in sales. He tried his employee discount and interest free installment payments (monthly) and couldn't get it.

So, what this tells me is, yes, we appreciate you working for us (Apple) and for being a military veteran, but because we're giving you 10% (more for employees?) off you have to pay up front without the option for monthly interest free payment.

And I'm glad I didn't go the iPhone upgrade program if I can't get my discount there either.
