I have 2 older iMac's (I believe fall 2009 first-gen i7 27 inch iMac, and a fall 2009 Core 2 Duo) that are long in the tooth but will continue to run Yosemite (yeah Apple! I'm holding out for Retina 4k iMacs). My slew of iPad's and iPhone's are all recent.
I'm wondering if Handoff/Continuity will be compatible with older desktops/laptops or if they are dependent on having Bluetooth 4.0 LE etc. I have a bad feeling some of the headlining features won't be running on my machines...
AirDrop likely won't work either.
While I'm at it any chance Apple is doing what they have done on older iOS devices and turning off translucency etc. on older desktop/laptops running Yosemite or do we get the whole deal?
I'm really happy Apple is supporting older machines, but the devil might be in the details...
Thanks!
