I've noticed that my new ATV turns itself on and off seemingly at random during the day. The light on the front will come on for a few minutes and then turn itself off. Has anyone else noticed this?

Considering the amount of posts and threads it has generated here on MR (that you can find by using the search function), I would think "yes" is an appropriate answer.
There doesn't seem to be a solution for it, some people have it and some people don't.
Hi, just wanted to say 'me too'. I bought an AT 3 over the weekend and this problem is happening for me as well. I winder if it could it be some function between the itunes host machine and the ATV 3 that needs to keep poling the host.
I am gonna try turning off as many options as possible and see if it happens.
Might also be of interest to turn my iMac that hosts iTunes off for an evening and see if it continues.

It's well known and is being covered all over the place here....Nobody I've emailed has a solution, or even a reason for it. Both my ATV2 and ATV3 do exactly the same thing.
