THATS HUGE! Do you have a floor plan for it :p?
Did you make rooms as you go or did you have a general idea what you wanted?

Thanks! I had a general idea for the main large rooms, and then for the smaller rooms (like bedrooms) I just built as I went. :)

I made a list of rooms to construct, so I just kept on adding them as I went along. Thanks for the feedback! :D

You don't know how good it feels to see this. :)

A frick'n 19 minute video to show it off? Just kidding you. :p Are the plaques on the walls customized (messages can be edited)? Is that Minecraft standard or addon?

Not that I have much experience with MC, but when I go into a natural landscape, my tendency is to go low profile (living quarters hidden) such as:

I love this Jungle Chateau setting which took about 45 minutes to make. (It's still under construction). Where Minecraft seems to be lacking most (IMO) is when it comes to furniture and other decorations. So for anyplace I build, they are usually just large empty halls with a bed, some trunks, and a rug... ;) Ultimately when they come up with something like MC that is not so blocky, it will be just as big, if not bigger of a hit.

Contrary to blending in, my Rivendell-lite knockoff is more substantial and more work has been done on it.

...Not that I'd ever match the Recreating Middle Earth Project or Planet Minecraft versions of Rivendell!

Woah, that's amazing! I really regret not building it on a normal map, with an interesting landscape. I am considering making it onto a normal map so I can also build an underground rail system & stuff. :D

Those things are awesome! And yeah, the YouTube video is quite long. :p

Recently (almost) completed Jungle Temple... (it's on a jungle map, located close to the jungle) :)

I asked this in the console forum but no bites- I'd like to move a saved world from xbox to PC although I don't think that is possible. Is it?

Im currently building a big glass underwater dome which I will fill with jungle. I will post it up when I eventually finish, its going to take a while.....

The server I'm playing is creative until bukkit releases for the new Minecraft so I'm trying to do as much as possible to build up near spawn (and where I'm living) before it goes public. I'll probably build this out into a castle of some kind, but for now it's a sea port. Either way I'll end up "housing" up here for this world. I want to make an ancient greek or mycenaean style city within the walls and add some statues as well, maybe poseidon. Who knows. Towers are still incomplete.

You span has a nice design. I'm very protective of my designs. I don't know how happy I'd be on a public server where collaboration is involved.

As far as a world building game, I think a good improvement for minecraft will be sloped/smoothed surfaces, such as for a road that goes up a mountain. Right now it can't be built without a thousand steps and roads as a rule, don't have steps. And designs on buildings and structures for anything other than horizontal or vertical have a serious case of the jaggeds.

The other improvement would be the A.I. of the animals. On the plain next to the the temple I posted, there is a herd of horses. I decided I'd make a simple shelter, with a water source and some hay and that the horses might use it during inclement weather. Nope, they are oblivious.

Also some settings that would control animal populations, allowing or restricting their ability to reproduce.

Thanks, I appreciate it. As far as the server goes, we're pretty close knit and builds are generally respected unless collaboration is agreed upon before starting. This is quite close to spawn, but is not exactly spawn town. Also, if anyone were to build anything within the port apart from me I could use rollback commands to erase what they've done as a mod. The spawn town is a collaborative project though, it's not really my kind of thing. Just a mish mash of a bunch of different styles really. It's actually pretty difficult to get other builders to collaborate on a theme.
