Mini 4 Smart Cover with Mini 5?

Will a Mini 4 Smart Cover work as well on a Mini 5 as the new Smart Covers Apple is selling for the Mini 5? I want a Smart Cover, but am not a huge fan of Apple's color options this time around.

I’m using an M4 cover on my M5. I have it with the silicone back cover. Another post says that the M5 cover is slightly smaller but I think that the main thing is the magnetic connector, which probably isn’t different.

Great, thanks. I don't understand why Apple isn't offering more color choices and silicone back covers for the Mini 5.

i'm hoping a case maker makes a back cover case compatible with the m5 smart cover soon. for now i have a smart folio case.

No. I moved mine over from my 4 and there are no issues.
