Planning to get 256G cellular. A friend will be getting my Mini 5 64G cellular for trade-in pricing.

I’ll be happy to have everything USB C (except for an old iPhone I use for app screen shots and my Logitech Crayon, neither of which I am likely to carry around much).

I just got the Apple Pencil 1 last year to go with my Mini 5. I would have upgraded if I could have brought my Apple Pencil 1 along. Now I will keep the Mini 5 + AP1 for another refresh or two until I can amortize the AP1's value down.

Does the mini have the 4 or 5 core gpu?
According to Apple.com
A15 Bionic chip with 64‑bit architecture
6-core CPU
5-core graphics
16-core Neural Engine

I pre-ordered the 64GB WiFi version in purple, hopefully there will be the purple smart folio at the retail store next Friday. Currently using the 64GB iPad mini 5th gen.

Very conflicted. I have the iPad Pro 11" (2018) and 12.9" (2021), and the iPad Mini 5. Only intermittently use my Mini though, but still...

However, if I was back working full time (rather than quit to go back to college), then 100% WOULD UPGRADE.

I’m one of those that only likes the Mini - the other iPad sizes have just never worked for me, so if I couldn’t have a Mini I just wouldn’t use an iPad. I’ve been weary of any size or shape change to one of my favorite devices.

That said, I’m giving the 6 a shot. The only part that looks iffy to me is making the screen slightly more narrow, which may make text and websites look smaller in portrait orientation. Everything else appears to have maintained the spirit of the Mini we know and love while also tastefully modernizing. If I don’t like it, I will return and stick with the 5.

I do a hand me down thing with my husband. I had a first generation mini for many years then purchased the mini 3, then the mini 4 came out gave husband my mini 3 last year I ended up purchasing the mini 5 gave husband my 4 and traded in his mini 3. Well guess what he is now getting my mini 5 and I am trading in his mini 4. We both really prefer the mini ipads, we have both had the full size iPad and those ended up going to our son. Although this time I was late to the game in ordering. Got my got my 13PM Sierra blue ordered right at the time it released but just today decided to bite the bullet for the the new Mini 6 lavender.
