Greetings.
First I am noon with Mac but have always loved them... Just never could afford them.
I want to dump my TiVo system since it is very limited in a lot of areas. Mostly in saving to network and retrieving for playback.
I've had a PC as a PVR but wanted to switch to MAC MINI.
So far all I have been able to find out is that it looks like elgato is the way to go, but cannot find out if it will support the IR Blaster as I have a settop box.
Basically here is what I want to do.
1- Be able to watch one channel and record another. So Dual Tuner is a must.
I can accomplish all that just fine on my MS box with the two hauppauge cards and an IR Blaster.
2- Be able to save shows to my file server and stream them back at a later time.
3- Be able to stream a remote tv in another room.
Ideally it would be nice to have a box with 4 tuners as a PVR server and two client machines. Each client would be able to switch channels as needed.
I currently can do this with SageTV on my pc. Can I accomplish this with MAC Mini's.
Looking forward all the answers you can give me.
Cheers
