Ok here's the back story. I plugged in my Nikon D50 like always and when Aperture started to open, it quit. Nothing would open, so I restarted. After restart it booted into a blue screen and the mouse cursor would blink on and off.

I booted from the install disk and repaired disk. Everything checked out to be OK, I restarted and same thing happened, so I then repaired permissions and restarted, and still nothing. I'm freaking out. I hope there is a fix

Sorry, I didn't search because I am so frazzled trying to find a cure. Please please please help, I hae to use this Gateway laptop :(:(:(

Do you have Windows via Boot Camp installed on your Mac?

What kind of blue - like the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or the blue short before logging into Mac OS X is almost completed?

What happens if you start the Mac an press and hold the Option/Alt key? - It should show you all bootable devices connected to your Mac.

I don't have Windows on my Mac(yucky! lol) so it's the blue like before logging in. I held Option and it showed the HDD and the install disk...

Try re-booting without anything plugged in to USB - mine was doing this yesterday and it was because my iPod Shuffle was plugged in.

Safe mode (shift key held down)?

Verbose mode to see if any error message pop up (Cmd-V).

Ok did Verbose mode and it comes up saying it saved the crash report somewhere

after startup it says can't find host time.apple.com

got a new slew of messages:
configd[14] Error: No interface name for AirPort_Athr5424ab
configd[14] Error: ioPublishedDriverCallback() failed to inltDeviceFromService()

Does this mean my Airport is fried?
