mini configuration for pro audio (2.3 or 2.6)

hi

i wanna order a new mac mini for pro audio (logic)
but i'm not sure in which configuration
16gb ram upgrade off course and the i7
but do i chose the 2,3ghz and install a ssd (my first one)
or the 2,6ghz without a ssd but maybe a seagate hybrid (which lies around)

the fusion drive isn't recommended for working with large files, so it's uninteresting

the mini needs to be 24/7 on, cause it'll also be the media (&download) server for the atv with an attached drobo pro via iscsi, where also all samples, plug'in librarys etc is stored too

any advice is very welcome!!!

There is about a 10% speed bump between the 2.3 and the 2.6, so if you are often running the processor at 100%, it may be a worthwhile upgrade. If not, I'd put the $100 towards an SSD. I'm not familiar with the seagate hybrid drives, but they sound similar to a fusion drive.

I would agree with COrocket. Unless you need the 10% bump, I would save the $100 and put that towards 16GB RAM or a SSD.

I would just go with the 2.6 ghz, 16 gb, & ssd.

Yes, you will be spending more money right now, but the performance boosts will be worth it.

I've been running the 2.6 w/ dual SSD & an external usb 3.0 hdd for my samples and Logic has been running flawlessly. I've had no CPU or latency issues. I can't say that the 2.3 won't perform the same way, but for a $100 price difference, you might as well just upgrade now.
