I have had the 1.66 Ghz Mac Mini for quite some time. It worked great, but I figured I should get the new $599 early 2009 model. I am in the process of adding Ram and a new 7200 RPM Hardrive. The new Mac Mini is much faster and I am pleased.
Anyway, I have a Samsung 32" LN-83241D Television. I have had it hooked up DVI-DVi on the old Mac Mini. I had to tweak the resolution with DisplayConfigX. I am not in front of the TV now, but the setting I got to work is somewhere around 1248 x 640. It looks good, but there are some lines that are off the screen, I cannot make it fit perfectly. I noticed when I hooked up the mac mini to the VGA port, it looked like it fit perfectly but the resolution did not look as good.
Here is my question. With the new Mac Mini I have it setup as Mini DVI - DVI on the TV. I am having the same issues with the screen not fitting perfectly.
If I buy the Mini DisplayPort - will this fix the issue?
I have the option of either Mini Display to VGA - or Mini Display to DVI. I read somewhere that it pushes a better resolution. Any advice? Any Thoughts? HELP?
