Mini for HTPC and game emulation

I'm about to buy my first MBP soon and want to get a mini for a HTPC to stream all my movies that I've got ripped and tv shows I've downloaded. I was going to build my own but I'd rather run boxee or plex and use mac OSX. My question is if I want to run emulators for SNES, NES, Genisis and the like on the mac would the mini and OSX be ok for me? Has anyone really done this and if so do you have any tips for me?

I don't have my mini yet but I have done tons of EMU gaming on my IMAC (2006 vintage) and my Mac Pro.

Macs work just fine and you should be able to find emu programs for all the systems you are interested in

I would recommend getting a Xbox 360 wireless controller or 2 with the for windows wireless receiver. You can pick these up on amazon or at best buy and if you google you'll find the necessary drivers for using them with your mac, they work perfectly

Hey. I've used N64 (sixtyforce), GBA (VisualBoyAdvance), PS (PSx or something), and arcade (MacMAME) emulators on OS X 10.5. . They all work great. There is just a trick to getting your game to save with GBA and N64 ones … Mine were saving until I deleted or moved a .sav file. You can find plenty of ROMs online.
