trying to cut the cable, and wondering if I can easily use a mini as a guide and pvr for the off the air HD that I have in my area.

I need it to be easy to use, so others can do it.

Probably using elgato.

Will this be as simple as a cable tv box for acceptance?

thanks!

easy to use for what skill level?

I have tried it and didn't find it easy enough to use for my lady so I returned it. I'm able to aquire TV shows and watch through Plex. Maybe you'd be interested in that route?

The eyetv would be easy to use if the stupid remote that comes with it was worth more then 2 cents. Prob the worst remote i have ever used and it has absolutely no range what so ever. You can use the Apple remote with it but that also is not so great unless you have remote buddy installed then it's much better.

I think this is the worst remote :D

So are you using a mini with plex? this is something I am thinking would be better that going with the apple tv.
