That's a result of the change in the screen's aspect ratio.Does anyone else feel the mini 6’s keyboard is unnecessarily large? It blocks half the screen!
Thank you. I've been using this mini in landscape mostly. Using it in portrait alleviates the keyboard issue to a satisfactory level. I'll have to get used to using it in portrait for typing. That or using the floating keyboard as a poster above recommended.Especially annoying as Apple have apparently decided to prioritise landscape mode on the new Mini due to the scrolling issue in portrait…I prefer the typing experience in portrait mode as I can actually see what I’m typing.
Thank you. I’ve not had an iPad in a while, and was as a loss for how to get the keyboard option. I was trying for a gesture to split it, but couldn’t find one. hahYes it is large. Similar situation on the 11" iPad Pro which also has a high(ish) aspect ratio. Can be annoying for filling in fields on a web page. For this, try switching to the floating keyboard (hold down the keyboard hide button, bottom right of keyboard, or pinch in on the keyboard)
On the iPad Mini you can either split or float the keyboard, not sure if you discovered this.Thank you. I’ve not had an iPad in a while, and was as a loss for how to get the keyboard option. I was trying for a gesture to split it, but couldn’t find one. hah
