Mini M2 with 5,120 x 1,440 Samsung Odyssey G9

I've just bought my first Mac and got the M2 Mini. I've got an existing Samsung Odyssey G9 which supports 5,120 x 1,440 on my PC and Laptop but I can't seem to get it to support it from my Mac Mini. Maximum resolution I'm getting is 3,840 x 1,080.
I'm connecting via HDMI as my other devices are using the 2 Display Ports on the monitor.

Sorry, you already know what the advice is going to be: get a thunderbolt to display port adapter and see if it works. If your other devices aren't Macs chances are you can use HDMI
