Good day all,

I looked through the forum categories and searched the forum as well couldn't find a concrete answer.

I have a Mini Mac (pre Intel) 1.25ghz with 1gig of ram, I have checked and researched that you can install Leopard on this machine (if you can't I would love to know).

I have a Leopard disk (I burnt the ISO onto a dual layer Verbatim 8x disk). When I boot Tiger and put the Leopard disk in I can see the Leopard disk and can click to say Update, the mini mac then reboots (expected) the problem is it just keeps ejecting the leopard disk and not going into the install.

Is there something I am missing or something I have to press to make it boot from the DVD drive?

Thank you very much for your time

Thank you for your reply caveMan

What do you mean the installer DVD is incompatible with the Mini?

When you say buy the retail package is that buy a Leopard disk from an Apple store?

It means that the Installer DVD that you burned is machine-specific and not the retailer installer (that works on all compatible Macs). Since the G4 Mini predates Leopard, there were no G4 Mini-specific Leopard Installer DVDs.

Yes, from an Apple Store, online or other retailer.

Thank you very much Cave Man,

I will try and find one to buy on the internet, if I go to the Apple store and ask for a retail version of Leopard they should know what I am speaking about right?

Yes! and I run Leopard on my PPC mini and it works fine.

Hey Cave Man I just checked with my mate that gave me the Disk he is 100% sure its from a Retail version of the Leopard OS not the OEM version.

Anything else it could be?

He works for Apple and it was his Mini Mac. I have no problem buying the disk.

At the moment this Retail disk doesnt seem to work it just keeps ejecting the disk from the mini mac
