Hi, my 2011 Mac mini isn't working with my Thunderbolt Display but my Macbook Pro does work with it.

Why would this be?

Should I go to the Apple store?

Thanks

Okay, two questions:

First: Did you install all updates on the Mini? There were some initial problems with Thunderbolt.

Second (and this may be stupid, but just in case): You are absolutely sure you got the 2011 Mini with TB, not the previous model?

If everything is up to date (even Mountain Lion), just try restarting while the TBD is connected. If this doesn't help, you'll have to call Apple.

I'm running 10.7.4 on my Mini.

Yeah, I've been to the Apple store and the monitor worked in store. Weird.

The mini works with my samsung 2$" which was connected to my G5. Very odd.

Whatg shall I do? Thr thunderbolt display works with my Macbook Pro though...

Hm. The mini is 100% for sure the 2011 model. But the Thunderbolt Display was fine with my MBP, now my TBD isn't working with my MBP...

does your thunderbolt port work for anything else?
The Thunderbolt Display is dead I think. Not working with my Macbook Pro too now. :(
Should I take my Mini and Thunderbolt Display to the store, and see what they say? :(

Yep, do this. The Mini isn't too big, so should not be hard to bring to the store. As for the TBD ... you'll probably go home with a new one.

I don't know if your TBD is in warranty but mine was broken out of the box. I went to the Apple store and 10 min later I had a new display. If yours is still in warranty there should be no problems getting a new one

Yeah it's in warranty and so is the Mac mini. I'll let everyone know what the outcome of it is on Sunday. :) :apple:

Thats exactly what happened, though I did leave my TBD in store with them to see if it worked with one of their Macs and mine (the day before).

Got a brand new TBD. Also I've the Megsafe adapter thingy for the Macbook Air now. So I basically got a 5 month warranty on the screen for nothing since they replaced it.

Thanks for the good service Apple! :) :apple:
