hi-
I would like to get a new computer (I currently have an ibook G4 and it is getting old), to use as an actual computer at a desk in one room (internet, email, etc) and also be able to use the computer to hook up to my tv (a 2003 tv, I know, I know, its old) to watch hulu in the adjacent room (in lieu of cable, I don't watch alot of tv).
I have been reading up on the mac mini, and using it to watch tv shows and movies, and I know I can get connections that will work even with my ancient TV.
my questions:
1. is this the best option, will hulu work ok ? I don't watch alot of tv, but I don't like watching tv on a computer screen at my desk. I want to watch it on an actual tv from my couch. I'm not opposed to buying a new tv if that will make things easier, but I am trying to save money ( I am a student).

2. is there any way to use this computer as both a "real" computer and to use for watching tv? or it it impractical because of cable switching between tv and monitor, etc?

any suggestions are appreciated. I know that this has been addressed elsewhere in part---I have read the websites for how to hook up a mini to your tv. I just don't know anyone who has done this, and if I need a second mini to be an actual computer for regular computer stuff.
