Mini on my TV

Hello

Does anyone know if it is possible to increase the size of the mac screen on my TV. It is only about 10 inches on a 40 inch tv screen and I can't see it to do anything from any of the seats in the room.

This is probably basic stuff so please forgive me if it is

Have you taken a look at System Preferences > Displays and changed the resolution accordingly?
