mini server and LG external dvd reader/writer very slow

I am using the nightly build of handbreak to encode my dvd collection, and my mini sometimes take 45 min to scan the dvd before I can encode it.

my imac and mbp dont do the same thing, so im wondering if im missing something.


any thoughts?
