Any word on a mini update? I really want one .... I hope it had C2D SR, 4 GB, updated graphics.

Nope, just words on Apple discontinuing them, sorry. If you really don't want anything powerful, you can get a low end imac and max it, i love my imac.

There has been no such thing. Just people worried it will be. Apple has released no information about them being discontinued.

When the update comes it is probably just going to bring it up to date with the current MacBook hardware.

So all the stuff the OP listed and hopefully 802.11n.

For YOU maybe, but the OP may want an inexpensive, small desktop Mac somewhere, and doesn't plan on doing a whole lot of gaming. In that case, the mac mini is just fine.

I also use an MBP and an iMac 24" Alu. That doesn't mean the mini I'm typing this out on is a waste of money. For what it's being used for, it was quite a bargain actually.
