Hello, how are you?
I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2012 i7 Mini.
The 2014 models aren't cutting it for me, because they are all dual core cpu's.
I plan to use the mini for photography. Lightroom and photoshop mostly.
I am torn between the i7 and the i7 server.
The price difference is around 100 euros.
Whatever I get, I will load it up with 16gb of ram and SSD.
My question is:
If I go for the i7, I will swap the stock HDD with probably a 500gb 840 EVO.
That will be my OS and APPS and working drive.
The photo library will be in an external raid array.
If I get the i7 server, I'll install one 250GB SSD as the OS, Apps and working drive and a second 120GB SSD as photoshop scratch disc.
My question, is the dedicated SSD scratch disc that important for photoshop performance?
Or is it not worth it and I might as well go for a single SSD setup?
What is your experience on this?
Thanks.
Cheers!
