My mid 2012 w/SSD Mini has been running great for about 6 months. I moved it yesterday (didn't start it up after moving it). This morning, the monitor comes on, I see the apple logo and a spinning mark below it. It does not get to the logon and then shuts itself down.
The only thing I might have done is when I was moving it. When I picked it up to unplug the cables I mistakenly hit the power button and it started up. Quickly I pressed and held the power button until it turned off (like on a regular PC). It powered off and I moved it.
Anyone know how to resolve this? Can I try booting into safe mode some how? Or is there a way to determine if the SSD died?
**Update**
I booted to cmd+r and ran the verify disk. Said to run the repair disk. Ran repair disk, said can't repair and to reformat and reinstall.
This will be my first time doing this. Is reformatting really necessary? Can I just reinstall the OS ?
Thanks.
