I am on the hunt for a new MBP (upgrade from 2013 MBP) and want to know what the minimum spec requirements would be for smooth timeline editing on Premiere.
Not so interested in export times and benchmarks per say, though quicker is better, I am mainly interested in for the most part smooth editing with color grading, 4K footage, graphics, slo-mo, etc..
Coming from a much older MBP I can say that editing my videos were a nightmare. I hate creating proxy for 4K and the scrubbing and general playback even at 1/4 res is so choppy. I don’t want to break the bank, I love Mac OS and understand the smarter way to go about it is switch to FCPX but I have been using premiere for quite a while now and just enjoy everything about it, other then how it performs on my older machine.

TIA

Get the latest MBP. The higher specs the better imo and in my experience.
