Minimum travel setup?

For travel to places that have flat screens with HDMI inputs (just about everywhere these days), what is needed to take an ATV2?

1. ATV2, iOS device (iPad2 or iPhone4S)
or
2. AT2, iOS device (iPad2 or iPhone4S), and wireless network device such as Airport Express

We do have the 30 pin dock to component plug adapters which have worked great in the past to get video from our iOS devices to TVs, but I would like to know how I can take advantage of an ATV2 in a travel setup.

You're right about the ATV2 (don't forget the cable), and the iOS device for remote control. Express depends on the destination, because there is a possibility that some hotels and destinations require authentication (like web-page signup, not just Wifi password) to access the network. If you create a peer-to-peer network with your iOS device though, you can use AirPlay without having to have outside network access.

I only want to playback what I have on my iOS device through the ATV2, and not stream anything else from outside the immediate room. But if I need a WiFi network to act as the conduit, then I guess I need to get the Airport Express thrown in the travel bag, too.

I have successfully used an airport express at a hotel that used a web-page signup for internet access - the web-based login opens as soon as you open a browser.
