Mirror Macbook to Apple TV 2?

Is this possible to do with sound?

I have read about it somewhere, but now I can't find the information!

I would like to mirror the macbook screen to stream movies or browse the web on a bigger screen.

No need for the Apple TV, maybe it is possible, but you could also just simply connect your MB to the TV.

Thanks, I already have the HDMI cable, but wondering if it can work through apple tv instead.

I don't think it is possible yet, but it would be nice as I do not want to have cords running from my tv to my couch. If I did I would not haver bought a device to stream media from my computer to my tv.

Erica Sadun was working on something called Bruce that allowed a Mac to send it's stream to an aTV. At the time, there was a lag and the frame rate was pretty low, but it worked. Audio didn't work, but that's not as big a deal for web surfing and such.
