Hello. Signed up specifically to ask this question. I have an iPhone 5s, iOS 11. I work in an area ‘WITHOUT’ WiFi. I have unlimited data plan. I want to mirror iPhone to larger portable screen (cheap tablet, perhaps?) to watch Netflix and run apps. Is this possible? I’ve asked dozens of self-proclaimed experts and all I get are hypotheticals ( “this SHOULD work...”). I am broke and want to get it right the first time (purchase of tablet). Anyone with first-hand knowledge know if this is possible, and if so, can tell me exactly what I need? Thanks in advance.

Might want to look at Airserver

You can connect via Bluetooth.

I appreciate your response. I have been reading for 2 hours about Airserver and have been unable to determine if it allows mirroring from iPhone to Android device over Bluetooth. I find an abundance of details with respect to iPhone to Apple TV and iPhone to desktop mirroring over Bluetooth. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something?

IDK. I don't use it that much and I don't use it with Android.

Might contact their support and ask…

I’m confused. If you want to watch at work, just bring the media on the device. Netflix allows shows to be downloaded.

What about having your phone be a hotspot and the tablet connect to it as it would to a regular WiFi network and then using Netflix or some other similar app as you normally would on a tablet that was connected to WiFi?

That's what I thought. Buy a tablet on which you can install Netflix. Download or use iPhone as hotspot. Problem solved. No need for mirroring.

Speaking of mirroring: as far as I know, only AppleTV can mirror the iOS device.

My problem is a little different, but similar. I make 12MP selfies and 4K movies on the way. To control I would like to connect a Samsung tablet to the iPhone. But without Wifi, only via USB, Bluetoth, hotspot etc. with the help of apps? Anyway. What do I have to do?

Best regards,

PS:
On the other hand I use a multichannel mixer with XLR phantom power microphone and USB-MIDI-Keyboard with a 5V power bank via Lightning connection on the iPhone and make whole music productions with Garage Band on the way. But simple screen mirroring without WIFI is not possible ??
