Hi
I am new to macs...
I just bought a used macbook air, and realized 3 screws were missing from the bottom, i called all the local repair shops, no one has screws for it..
i would really like to get the screws. longer ones by the fan i am more concerned about, where could i order them from without getting a while set for like $40?
Ps. It is out of warranty so apple will not give me the screws
Thanks

Here is a ifixit take apart of the MBA here

I would use the linked article and find out what sizes you need. Any hardware store (Ace true value ) should be able to special order it for you. If you still have a problem find an old electronic store (every town should still have one left) - not Radio Shack!

Good Luck

Just look at iFixIt.com and see which screws they are. Also, I have found screw kits on Amazon and eBay super cheap. I just ordered a screw kit for a Lenovo ThinkPad for $5 because some of the screws were recommended to be replaced rather than reused after taking off. I suspect due to the loctite used on them.

BTW, I took apart my ThinkPad, and the Lenovo factory, probably same factory workers in China, do the same blob job with thermal paste on the CPU. It was terrible. It seems that no matter how expensive the computer, these companies wow us with components but use the same shoddy laborers who don't care and have no incentive to do the job properly. It's too bad.
