Missing Apps On iPad

While I absolutely enjoy my iPad I do have a growing need for a few apps that are missing:

1. COVER FLOW from Apple for controlling my music.
2. The Clock App from Apple
3. The WEATHER app from Apple
4. The Calculator App from Apple.

Can we all here join hands and move Mr. Jobs to please include these apps in a future update?
 
There's a free calculator app called Jumbo, and Weather HD is very pretty ($1.99 I think).

But yeah, it is strange that they weren't included.
 
I agree only with the Calc app.

IMO, there are better weather apps for free. I do not think I have ever used the clock app on my iPhone. Cover flow is too cumbersome on large libraries so I never use it.

Obviously, YMMV.
 
I only use the clock app on my iPhone for setting an alarm. The problem on the ipad is that apps cannot set an alarm to go off while you have something else running. This should be corrected once we get mu,ti-tasking in IOS4.
 
I miss Clock...but only because I could use it in the background for alarms. Once we have iOS4 on the iPad, that will be a non issue as I imagine the plethora of clock/alarm programs out there will be setup for backgrounding. For now, I just set alarms on my iPhone, same as I always have.

For the rest, I never use cover flow, and have found good alternatives to both the Weather and Calc apps.
 
I miss clock too...but I've already downloaded the free calculator and I got a free download of WeatherBug which I love, so I'm good for now :D

I'm surprised that Apple hasn't released an iPad version of the Remote app. It's fantastic on the iPhone for controlling my Apple TV (or iTunes on a computer). It could be even better on the iPad with more screen space to display cover art, song lists, controls, etc.

iOS4 to sort all of the above?
 
Already a clock, top center. That works for me. I just look out my window for weather. PCalc lite, free, is a sweet app.

Internal clock bro. Haven't used an alarm clock since the 70's when I was a kid. Like I said I can tell what the weather is by looking out the window. Now if you're referring to future weather, I'd go with the weather channel.

But I get why others need stuff like this just not for me. I was just having a little fun.
 
The best whether app

Weather bug elite is free. It animates clouds/storms. It also shows public webcams in the area to see what it actually looks like.

i never liked coverflow, probably because i dont have album artwork from all the pirated song i have(i dident download them, i inherited them, long story)
2. tru that clock app please
3. the weather channel max weather app is SO MUCH BETTER
4. there are some good alternatives in the store
 
Missing Apps

People, the intent of putting in my thoughts was not to draw your criticism. I have requested your unanimity (if you please) in drawing Mr. Jobs's attention. I do understand a lot of us would differ on which apps to include or not but I have set forth my views on apps that I miss most and would love to see like-minded getting together to create some opinion that could be noticed by the powers-that-be.
 
I have an iPad 3g on hold for me, due to come in at the end of the month. But I'm seriously re-thinking this. I've heard that having no flash really makes a lot of things not accessible.
Like games...farm ville....flash animation...etc...
I'm not an App person. Really don't care about apps. Just trying to decide between a macbook or an iPad.

You and me too. It was just yesterday they released an iDisk update, SIX MONTHS after the iPad was debuted to the public.

The 'background' solution with iOS4, is not exact the answer many want. With the apple clock app, as long as the phone has power, the alarm will go off. So, for example, if you set an alarm with the iPhone, say 4:30PM every day - it will alarm every day w/o your extra attention. If though you are running a clock app from a third party in the background, you will need to enable this app every time you power cycle your phone, and make sure its running before the alarm is needed. So, if you need that same alarm at 4:30, but you power cycle your phone at 4:00, better make sure the clock is running in the background before 4:30. This app husbandry, for want of a better term, will get old very fast.

The Albums tab on the iPad's iPod app does everything cover flow does on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
 
A lot of this was addressed in the interval between the January product unveiling and the April release. Apple sources told tech bloggers that the iPad software team had tried porting little widgety things like the Clock and Weather apps, but they just didn't work on the large screen. Apple has been encouraging developers not just to make their iPhone apps larger, but to really add new functionality to take full advantage of the new device. Obviously the company decided to follow its own guidelines in this regard with some of the built-in iPhone apps.

It doesn't matter. There are new apps that get the job done, some of them free and the rest cheap.

Try Night Stand if you're looking for a simple and elegant alarm clock. With a cool icon.

Are you sure about this? Local notifications are the Apple suggested way of dealing with timer alerts in iOS4. As far as I can tell local notifications work in pretty much the same way as push notifications; in that the App that owns the notification is only invoked when the user responds to the alert. I can't see any particular reason why rebooting the OS would have to clear the local notifications that have been set. Unfortunately I don't have an iOS 4 device to test this on.

Of more importance is that custom alarm sounds are limited to 30 seconds long and I'm not sure if repeats are allowed. This would be fine for a reminder App but would cause major problems for an Alarm clock.
 
I hate Cover Flow, so I don't miss it at all.

Downloaded a free calculator, although I cant' say I've ever used it.

Don't care about the other two.

This just made me laugh out loud. As if "Mr. Jobs" is reading the Mac Rumors board. Hahaha.
