I started iTunes Match yesterday via iTunes on my MBP. I noticed today 90% of my artwork is missing on my Artists tab on my iPad. How do I get back the artwork? All the artwork is displayed on the Album tab but not the Artists tab. When I click an Artist name, the artwork shows-up in the song list.

Ditto.

I have tried resetting the key photo for artists in iTunes as well as setting a different one than what was already set. This appears to have had no effect. I'll keep toying around...

I also tried resetting the photos, restarting, and re-synching with iTunes without success. Let us know if you find a fix for this.

I was able to fix mine. I was modifying the "Sort Album Artist" field on one of the albums and it popped up on the iPad. I doubt it makes any difference which field gets changes but something needs to change you can always change it back if it's how you want it. Doing that will "push" it out. The key is you have to be modifying a track that it was pointing to for the "lead" cover. For me it happened to be the second album for most of mine. On one of them it was pointing to a video.

I fixed all of mine this way.

This worked for most of my artists. For artists where I have "1 Song, 1 Album", it does not. I'm not sure what the difference would be...

Were are you doing the modifying on the computer or iPad. Not sure where you went to modify the "Sort Album Artist" fields. Do I do this in iTunes?

Missing album artwork in Artist view on iPad Music app

I was having the same problem. You can fix this from the iPad:

Settings > Music > Set "Group by Album Artist" to OFF.

I have two iPad 2's -- 64gb and 32gb. This is a problem only on the 64gb, which has the actual music files on it. My 32gb iPad has the same tunes, but all in the cloud. It shows album artwork in Artist view regardless of whether Group by Album Artist is on or off.

A bigger or maybe related problem, for me at least, is that iOS 5 killed List View for playlists, Artist View and Album view. I hate these huge clunky thumbnails.

Yes, in iTunes on PC. I doubt it matters which field you change but something needs to change.

I tried this and was able to confirm that every single song in my library has artwork associated with it. However, when I flip back to sorted by album artist, there are still some that will not show. When I click through the artist, the artwork is there on the albums.

This only appears to be happening to artists that have "1 Song, 1 Album". Some sort of bug is my guess since they all have art, but it won't show.
