argh... i suddenly found out that that my powerbook no longer detects my cdrom drive! there's no icon no nothing..:( whenever i insert a disc, u hear some sound and it does nothing... anyone can help?:(

it doesn't read any type of disc.. err... it doesn't even detect that i got a cdrom drive...-_-! my whole icon is missing...:(

yeah... nothing seems to help..:( tried the reset PRAM too... it just seems as if i never had a cdrom drive at all..>_<

Just a thought -- try rebooting from the system disk. (restart holding "C")

If that doesn't work, it's almost certainly a hardware problem.

Before you do anything else, perform a PMU (Power Management Reset) reset. If that doesn't work, take it in to have it serviced, it's most assuredly a hardware issue.
