Missing emails after El Capitan upgrade!!

I just upgraded to El Capitan beta, yes I know I should have backed up but I didn't.....

Everything seems ok except that I'm missing hundreds and hundreds of emails, one inbox in particular is totally empty, missing sent messages as well, all gone.

Er, help?

Are they still on your IMAP account?

I probably panicked too early, I clicked the rebuild option under mailbox file menu and all the messages came back.

You lucky. I lost all the POP messages. And no V2 folder in my Library any longer.

Lost 100s of emails here as well. I am about to puke.

THANK YOU!! I was unable to get my mail back using other methods and this worked perfectly.

The same thing happened to me. I phoned Apple support and they got them all back for me. Hope you will have success
