Somehow my Facetime App is missing off of my phone. Not that big of deal, I can facetime by going to a contact and touching facetime; but the stand alone app is missing. I know I could reinstall the entire OS and then restore from a backup, but I was hoping there was something easier.

Anyone have a thought on how I could get it back?

Really? I could have sworn it was there. . . .

Looks like Apple thinks it should be there.

Guess it was never there, Apple is just taunting me. The feature works fine, but I could have sworn there was an icon there at one time.

There's only a standalone "app" only for the iPad and iPod touch. The iPhone 4 was the first FaceTime device and was integrated into contacts/phone. The iPad and iPod touch do not have "phone" applications, so it was integrated into contacts and then made a separate launcher app.

If you're used to iPad/iPod touch I can see where you would want to find a separate app. The thing on Apple's website is just to showcase features.

How does the "HD Recording" feature have anything to do with the Videos app? If it has anything to do with any of the apps, its the Camera app. The Camera app and the Photos app are two different apps on the iPhone's screen. Thus, the separation is needed. The "HD Videos" is a feature, not a part of the Videos app. On that page in pre-iOS 5 times, the Videos app wasn't even there, only the iPod app was present.

When capturing a video using the Camera app, it cannot be played back using the Videos app. Only iTunes media can be played using the Videos app. Using that logic, your metaphor comparing the two isn't very good. Don't forget the thing is listed on Apple's page as "HD Video Recording", not "HD Videos". Note the word "Recording".

It's kinda dumb to have that on Apple's website. Why post a picture of built-in apps with icons that aren't really apps? I can see where that would be confusing to the average person who doesn't know all the ins and outs of the iPhone. Facetime is not an app, it is a feature within the Phone app. And HD Recording is not an app, it is a feature within the Camera app. I won't say that it's misleading because it's not like they are claiming to have something they don't, it's just needlessly confusing.
