Missing Google Contacts in OSX Contacts Book

I recently found myself without my PC for a month so I decided to buy a Mac Mini, I'm also an Android user so my contacts are stored on Google, I linked my Google Account in "Internet Accounts" in System Prefs and checked "contacts".

Roughly 75% of my contacts are in the Address Book but theres a few missing, I've double checked on Google and they're definitely there, any suggestions?

I don't know if this is your issue but the Mac will only sync with the contacts that are in the "My Contacts" list. Other groups don't get synced.

Ahh that was the problem, I have no idea how that happened as all of my contacts were created in my phone and generically "add to Google".
