My prediction of the missing ICON will probably be an ichat application, or maybe some games, google might also be adding some stuff as well as yahoo i think. I also think that the missing commercial will reveal that missing icon sometime next week. If the ipod has games now, then that best ipod ever made will have them too. :apple:

It'd be good if there was a 2nd camera pointing towards the user, for iChat-like video conferencing, however I would think that's just wishful thinking. Time will tell.

Youtube Icon

I think it will be a youtube icon, just like apple tv will have. Users wont have to pay for videos and they can access thousands of them, unlike other tv video services cingular and verizon have

Steve said in an interview just the other day that he doesn't see streamed video on mobile devices as a big opportunity. Of course, it could be just distraction while they perfect the system (as with video iPods) but I don't think he'd be speaking ill of iPhone on YouTube so close to an announcement of it.

My most optimistic prediction is iChat or some iWork-like app. My most pessimistic prediction is you can put widgets on the home screen, or shortcuts to other things already known to be on iPhone.

someones a bit anxious arent they?

already worn out our iPhone have we:rolleyes:

we could just wait

best case scenario..apple pulls a rabbit out of the hat...worst case scenario, it's nothing for us, only for beta models

I think it will be an AT&T icon to access network services and make them more money!

I think that would happend when Apple will announce their 3G model or
when they'll start marketing in Europe..

I think there will be a few more icons added when it comes out. More than just that missing one.

Everyone is correct!

How do you do iChat when the Camera is facing the otherway?

I assume you can flip it around and talk, but then you would not be able to see how you appear on screen.

It's a credit check widget.

Let's you check someones credit so that you know if you want to let them hold your Iphone or not :D

the main use of ichat would be for text instant messaging, not video conferencing.

Fantastic! I'd use it. ;)

I agree with the YouTube button prediction. Seems the most plausible. It could launch simultaneous with the iPhone release.

Neven is right tho, The bandwidth could be expensive.

My money is on the button being one-hit-access to the iTune store

Steve has also been going around saying he doesn't think that buying songs from a device like an iPod, AppleTV, or iPhone "makes sense", which again translates to "we're not ready to do it yet."

I can't see it being a link to YouTube. There's no way YouTube content would ever work over the EDGE network. Wifi yes, but not every city is blanketed in free Wifi like San Francisco.

why would we need a YouTube button if the phone has the real internet and we can go to the real YouTube? I know it would be faster, but it's a bit redundant.

It wouldn't work well with the internet because there is no version of flash that is working on the iPhone (according to some information from a January interview). I can see a special youtube area...

Your hair would turn gray by the time the actual YouTube page loaded over the EDGE network.

There is absolutely no way that it's a YouTube button.

I am maybe going to go with some sort of file collector? Like it will list all your attachments from email, like pictures and documents, and you'll be able to view them without having to actually open up a random message from someone.. It will be kinda like spotlight sorting by type. Then again, maybe it's just a Spotlight type app.

Or maybe it's iChat!
