which Apple product are you using with the dock? I think that option is available for laptops only

I have a Caldigit TS3 Plus Dock. it requires you to allow accessories to connect. See their instructions in the link below. Only problem is this option doesn't exist in in Sonoma. I called Apple they said to get support from Caldigit.. its a vicious cycle. Any Ideas?

As the post above states, this setting is only available for Mac portables, and it is in Sonoma. Mac desktop computers will always allow all devices to connect.

It's also Apple Silicon specific.

its a M1 MBA See SS 1 below and I dont have the option shown above see SS #2, I will also say the reason this came up is I have an LG monitor that once I plug into the Dock wont work. Ive tried USBC and USBC to HDMI with multiple known good cables. If I plug the USBC directly into the MBA it works fine. Also I've plugged a PC laptop into the dock with the same cables and no issues...

You could disable authorization with a configuration profile (.mobileconfig):
allowUSBRestrictedMode
“On macOS, allows new USB and Thunderbolt accessories and SD cards to connect without authorization.”
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/restrictions

You can create a profile with iMazing Profile Editor

https://imazing.com/guides/getting-started-with-imazing-profile-editor
or Apple Configurator https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-configurator/id1037126344

At the bottom of the page you linked, there is a troubleshooting step about disconnecting the dock, booting into Safe mode, reconnecting the dock, then booting normal. Did you try?

With the TS3 make sure that you’re using the Thunderbolt cable which came with the dock, and make sure the cable is connected to the “computer” port on the back of the dock.
