Just upgraded from 10.6.8 to ML and a coworker mentioned that oh you won't have a cluttered desktop anymore. I Have tons of files on my desktop and my trusty Macintosh icon still there.

Question is there a preference somewhere to switch on the new look?

Probably working on bad information, but to rephrase:

She was trying to tell me that ML wouldn't keep stuff on the desktop rather I would have to click open a window to finder and navigate to a master folder. Or that somehow I would set a location that could either be a shortcut or quick launched somehow.

ML will keep the HDD, External Disks, CDs, and Servers on your desktop if you want them to.

The option is in the Finder Preferences.

She was talking about mission control. Which I hadn't used before...
