Missing Password?

I'm running 10.2.8 on a dual 1.25 G4. A while back Apple mail started promting me every time I launched hee programme for the POP box password, Also Safari does the same for log in details to certain sites. Remeber password options are clicked but this makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Possible Keychain corruption? If that's the case then delete your current keychain and start anew. This used to happen to me in Jaguar and it was an irritation to have to type in my password everytime, ichat, Safari, and Mail launched despite having remember password checked off.

Please excuse my lack of knowlege - how do I delete my existing keychain?

okay, straight to the point - Home>Library>Keychains. then you just go in and trash the keychain file, but that will completely remove all of the passwords you had stored. you'll have to start over again.

this just happened to me today, and i've got Panther. i couldn't be bothered trying to fix it, so into the trash it went.

i'd really like to find out what causes all of this funny stuff with Keychains...
