I really am feeling sad about what's happening to apple, I just watched the WWDC keynote and it's just left me feeling empty inside. When Steve was alive I remember that new iPads had a new design and oh my it was exciting but now apple are keeping the same design all the time, their new speaker just looks like a ball of wool and it's $200 more than an amazon echo and I just think apple are starting to take their customers for granted knowing they can sell a product which is only worth $149 for $200 more it just makes me sad I guess.

I swear these thread should be auto-closed. Steve Jobs died 6 years ago. Apple is still fine. It's a

As @AustinIllini has already pointed out, "Steve" (that is, Mr Jobs) passed away all of six years ago.
Yes, he was exceptionally talented - as visionary and businessman both - and he had his share of failures, too, but, as it happens, he is no longer with us.
Life moves on, as do market demands, commercial preferences and choices on the part of the public, and the companies that cater to them. Apple is a commercial company - and a pretty profitable one - not a cult.

Second - we're watching MacWorld San Francisco Spring 2017.
You don't announce new hardware that's ready for immediate sale at a developer's conference. If you do that, it's MacWorld, not WWDC.
Why do so few people realize that shortly after Apple said "we don't need MacWorld" that Apple turned the WWDC into MacWorld?
Tim Cook is doing a good job as CEO of Apple . . . apart from being pushing his political agenda on the Apple staff which should be totally illegal in my opinion.

It's one keynote for the public. The rest of the conference (That BS politically motivated fireside chat excepted) is all about the developers so it's fine.
People have such selective memories when it comes to Steve
Sure there were some great products, designs and memorable moments
But there was a fair share of stinkers too

Steve did not push any political agenda on his staff like Tim Cook does. That's something Jobs excelled at and Cook fails at.
I wish the Angry Mac Bastards podcast was still around. They were so good at taking apart the CW around Apple. They were the ones that pointed out all the Steve Jobs keynotes where he'd spend half the keynote demoing iDVD or something. The thing is complainers have selective memories so every Cook keynote is compared to the iPhone keynote as if every keynote under Jobs was like that. News flash: most weren't.

Quick question: does steve gives a damn about you? He didnt know anyone of us here. I agree that steve was an inspiration but we gotta move on.
If Steve were alive he would have presented you with the exact same products and you'd be happy even he charged you 1000$ more.
I thought Apple stepped it up this year. The Amazon Echo type product was priced correctly. The speakers are the most expensive part. I personally feel that the Amazon Echo speaker is good enough for my needs though but I still curious of the Apple product.
The only thing I am disappointed is that some 32-bit iOS apps that were abandoned will now require me to keep an iPad on iOS 10. I know Jobs would have wanted to move on too and I understand the decision.

Agreed, I think they rolled out some nice products. I'll be the first to admit that the homepod (man I hate that name), looked rather silly but reading more about it. I think its a nice product, its limiting however, you really only get to fully leverage its usefulness if you subscribe to apple music.
The iPad Pro, is a nice evolutionary improvement, so much so, that I bought it. Its been several years since I got an iPad so they did something right.
The laptops getting spec bumps was a nice move, given that in the past, they forced us to wait a year.
As for missing Steve, he's dead, people need to move on. Yes he was a visionary, not question, yes he was able to push people beyond what they thought they could do, but he was also a jerk. He brought men and woman to tears and ripped into them countless times. I think he may have softened up in his later years but he was not always a pleasent person to be around.
He's now dead, and Apple is being run by someone who is completely different and will never be able to fill Job's shoes. He's not trying too and while I'm critical of Cook, I do think Apple has done many things right this year.
No reason, out of sight out of mind. All in all though that looks like a killer of a machine. I have zero need for such a product but I was impressed with the teaser video/talkI noticed that you didn't comment on the Imac Pro....
