I hope someone can lend some insight...
iOS 13.3.1 non-jailbroken running on iPhone X using iMessage. I am not using Apple ID for iMessage, just my cell number.
I checked my phone yesterday after operating all day and found that several conversations as well as recent texts from others were entirely missing from iMessage. When I started a new conversation I went to the Info tab for that contact and it showed a few random photos from the past were still there. It appears that part of the thread is intact but could not be accessed. Is it possible the index of the iMessage got corrupted? Some of these threads are 12+ years old.
Third party restore apps Dr.Fone and PhoneRescue only showed the current messages.
-My last iPhone backup is a couple of months old.
-I wasn't using my Apple ID for texts so I can't use iCloud to retrieve
-iCloud storage wasn't backing up my entire phone (I wrongly assumed that when you selected 2TB of storage it would).
Any ideas?
