Mission Control/Desktop Animation Speed

I've searched for this when I tried Lion too, but couldn't find anything useful. Is there a way that you can speed up the animation of moving between spaces/desktops? It's just far too slow for me and gets really irritating

I know that you can increase the speed at which mission control opens, but I haven't found anything about desktop switching. I know about the command+number option, but I usually use the gesture to go between desktops

I would like to know if there is a way to speed up the space switching because it is slower at ML compared to LiOn

I searched the web for this and I don't think there is.
At least nobody knows about it.

I found a workaround from another thread. Totalspaces gives you back the original way Spaces work and also allows setting animations and how speedy they are or turning animations off completely.
With a bit of BetterTouchTool tinkering you can use it or stick with MC and only enjoy the TotalSpaces switching animations (or non animations) without anything else. It depends on how you setup your Shortcuts and gestures.

It works quite well but it isn't freeware.
One other good thing is that it can cycle around again. Last space -> First Space. Lots of other stuff too.

I think the closest solution to what you are looking for is in Lion Tweaks 2 (it also supports ML)
